Casey and Hays | Wedding | Longview Mansion, Kansas City
Welcome Party at The Fontaine Kansas City
The celebration began the evening before at The Fontaine in Kansas City, where the couple hosted an elegant welcome party for their guests. The Fontaine provided a refined and intimate setting, setting the tone for the entire wedding weekend.
Wedding weekends in Kansas City are becoming more intentional and immersive, and beginning at The Fontaine allowed guests to connect, relax, and fully step into the experience before the wedding day itself. I personally love it when couples design a full weekend celebration — it creates deeper storytelling and more meaningful moments to document.
Getting Ready at Longview Mansion
On the wedding day, preparations took place at Longview Mansion, allowing the entire day to unfold seamlessly at one location. The natural light pouring through the windows, paired with the mansion’s historic details, made for stunning getting-ready portraits.
One of the things I love most about photographing at Longview Mansion is how effortlessly the venue lends itself to timeless wedding photography. Every room offers architectural character, creating depth and dimension in images that feel both classic and modern.
A Timeless Ceremony at Longview Mansion
The ceremony took place on the grounds of Longview Mansion, framed by lush spring greenery and the estate’s historic façade. The setting felt reminiscent of an iconic East Coast celebration — refined and so elegant.
As a Kansas City Wedding Photographer, I’m always inspired by how the venue balances grandeur with intimacy. The ceremony felt deeply personal while still carrying the elevated presence that makes Kansas City estate weddings so special.
An Elegant Reception at Longview Mansion
Following the ceremony, guests transitioned into a beautifully designed reception Tent somewhat within the mansion. The energy throughout the evening was joyful and warm — the kind of celebration where guests linger at tables, no one leaves early, and the dance floor stays full. It was the perfect blend of sophistication and rowdy dance party, making this wedding one I’ll never forget.
Why I Love Photographing Longview Mansion Weddings
Longview Mansion remains one of my favorite Kansas City wedding venues to photograph. Its architecture, expansive grounds, and refined atmosphere create endless opportunities for elevated yet photographs.
More than the stunning setting, what made this Longview Mansion wedding so meaningful was the relationship built throughout the planning process. Working closely together over the months leading up to the wedding turned this celebration into something even more special. By the end of the day, this incredible couple felt less like clients and more like dear friends — and that is always the greatest honor.
