Ana and Hunter | Kansas City Newborn Photography | Overland Park, Kansas

There’s something incredibly special about photographing couples through multiple chapters of their lives. Three years ago, I had the honor of photographing Ana and Hunter’s wedding outside of Kansas City, at the lovely Bourgmonth winery in Bucyrus, Kansas. Returning to their home to document their newborn session felt like such a meaningful full-circle moment.

As a Kansas City newborn photographer, I love the quiet intimacy that comes with newborn sessions at home. Instead of rushing through poses, we were able to slow down and work with the natural light throughout their space, allowing the session to be relaxed and the images to be authentic.

A Kansas City In-Home Newborn Session

Ana and Hunter’s home created the perfect setting for documenting these early days with their new baby. We focused on simple, natural interactions: soft cuddles on the couch, more snuggly moments in the nursery, and the gentle way new parents play with those little baby hands and feet. These are the moments that truly tell the story of early parenthood.

Capturing the First Chapter of a New Family

Lifestyle newborn photography is less about perfection and more about emotion. As a Kansas City family and newborn photographer, my goal is always to preserve the feeling of this fleeting season — the calm, the excitement, and the deep love that fills a home when a new member of the family arrives.

Watching Ana and Hunter step into this new chapter together was such a privilege to document. Seeing couples grow from newlyweds into parents is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
